Embedded systems combine hardware and firmware in an electronic subsystem. The unique combination of hardware efficiency and software flexibility allows meeting the strongest requirements. The combination of a CPU and an FPGA in an embedded system, or the instantiation of a CPU in an ASIC achieves the best designs goals.
Barco Silex offers its competencies and experience to design full embedded systems, at chip level (ASIC or FPGA), board level, firmware level or communication and driver level. Of course, the efficient combination of these design levels makes the strength of the resulting solution.
At Barco Silex, we develop firmware for embedded CPUs and DSPs. We have a long-term experience in command and control, firmware upgrade, signal handling and communication firmware (PCI express, Ethernet, TCP/IP, ...).
By leveraging this knowledge, we can meet the usual embedded requirements on footprint and real-time behavior.
